David McCoy

Mr. David McCoy is a retired Army Officer with more than 25 years of active-duty service in the Air Defense Artillery. During his career, David served in positions of increasing responsibility, from Platoon Leader to Test Director, Air and Missile Defense Test Directorate, Fort Bliss. He commanded Echo Battery, 5th Battalion, 52d Air Defense Artillery, during the Invasion of Iraq and the Fall of Baghdad. His unit served as the lead for all Patriot ADA forces throughout Iraq. Later in his career, he specialized in Security Assistance and Cooperation, leading to multiple assignments in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He is considered a subject matter expert in Air Defense Artillery, with special emphasis on support to maneuver units during combat operations.

 

David served with distinction in forward areas, with more than five (5) years in support of the Republic of Korea, OSW, OEF, OIF, and OIR. Additionally, he was designated in FA 53 (Information Systems Management), with a culminating position as Deputy CIO for the United States Army Accessions Command from 2004-2007. David was also selected to serve as the Professor of Military Science at New Mexico State University from 2013-2016.

 

David McCoy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science as well as a Master of Science degree in Information Technology from the University of Maryland, University College. He holds several IT certifications, including CompTIA Computer Support Specialist, A+, and Linux+, as well as Amazon Web Services Practitioner and Palo Alto Cybersecurity Academy Certified Instructor. His military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Wings.
